The picture says it all!

Jesus the Healer by Brenda MickelsonIf I had to explain what happens here at Beauty From Ashes, and on our once-a-month Healing Retreats in other places, this picture  says it  all!

15 years ago when I first began Beauty From Ashes, I used to panic and think, ‘What can I do for the people who come needing help and comfort—whatever could I say?’ Then I distinctly heard Jesus reply, ‘Invite me to come and I’ll do the rest!’ Ever since He has been personally encountering and blessing all our guests  and many of them say it is the reality of His presence which impacted them more than anything we did!  Yes, our team are trained and experienced in Prayer Ministry and but it is Jesus who heals and changes lives!counselling, but truly it is Jesus who changes their lives!

Spring Retreats with Beauty from Ashes

March 5, 2012

Not all that Beauty From Ashes does happens here at the House of Prayer.  We’ve got some lovely Retreats and Holiday Breaks lined up this spring.  We take small groups of people away to comfortable venues in beautiful surroundings and give them the TLC they need when life is being tough.  They can have prayer ministry if they like, or simply relax in God’s presence.  Take a look and choose one you fancy.

New DVD Available

October 24, 2011

Come On the Journey, a new DVD with Jennifer Rees Larcombe is now available.

Rob and Marion Marshall are brilliant at filming the beauties of God’s creation. They have filmed Jen reading 30 of the daily readings from her book, A Year’s Journey with God and added their own beautiful wild life clips.

Marilyn Baker, Barbara Cordrey, Jackie Potter and Janet McDonald have specially composed and performed some wonderful music to go with these readings and pictures. We hope the DVD will be useful in small groups as well as blessing people in their personal devotions.

This is the Beauty From Ashes House of Prayer

Garden Large

We welcome people who are in need of prayer for themselves or others. For details click here.

Jennifer Rees Larcombe writes:

"I love living here in the House of Prayer – what a privilege. People who come here often comment on the sense of God’s presence and His peace which they feel the moment they walk through the door. One visitor told me, ‘I think Jesus just loves living in this house.’  I guess this isn’t surprising because of all the prayer that goes on every day here, not just in our five counseling rooms but guests love to sit and pray in the lounges by a log fire or tucked away in corners of the garden.

"When we built the extension here we put a Bible inside a tin and buried it in the concrete foundations because we wanted everything that would happen here to come from God alone. I do all my writing and counselling sitting over the spot were that bible is hidden!

Living in a House of Prayer

"Someone asked me, ‘What’s it like to live and work in a House of Prayer?’ I replied, ‘Wonderful but sad!’ A huge amount of grief gets released in the house every day. People come with horrendous stories and weep their way trough many boxes of tissues. We have to feel their pain with them but, to avoid burnout, at the end of the day we need to give it all to the Lord who carries all our grief and sorrow (Isa 53:4). We also ask Him to wash the house through with His love and peace. Watching all the amazing things He does here for people makes everything worthwhile!"
